Stay Safe: It Does Not Need Days


Out of all her peers
She was different, for she
Was svelte, naturally beautiful,
Talented and academically brilliant


All the people of her
Area know that it is
A matter of time for
Her to break grounds

When she breaks grounds she
Would liberate her family for
This has been seen in her
Eyes over the years

She was the kind of person
That values her parents, fear
Them for they are
At apex of her heart

After her first degree she
Decided to progress academically
And was given a partical scholarship

She finished second degree in
Flying colors and was given
Full scholarships for her PhD

In doing the field work
She traveled to different places
Of the world to collect data

All the field works and
Researches have been completed she
Returned home to defend her works

But on the plane she
Boards she sits close by
Her with some kinds of bug

Coughing, sneezing, mild fever but
She would not know her disease
Condition, the person equally stated that

It was for this “bug”
That the person abandoned what
She was doing, returning to her country

Which is where the place
Would have stop over before
Taken off to beautiful one’s country.

“Get over this quickly” she
Encouraged her when she got off
The plane in her country

She would not think few
Hours spent beside her was
More than enough for the transfer

The transfer of such a
Deadly disease which she later
Known to be Covid-19

She finished her defense and
Was awarded the best research
Student of the decade

But before receiving the award
She died, her parents were
Those who received the price…
