Benefits of Doing the will of God #3

Earlier on
I started this article by defining what benefit means and have continued with explaining what the will of God means as contained in chapter 81 of the book of Psalms.

Having seen some of the ways of God which when added together shows what it means doing God’s will in the second article, I will want us to see some benefits of doing his will as stated in this chapter of the book of Psalms in this third article.
1. Subduing the Enemies: Our enemies till rages because we are not doing the will of God. If we are doing his will, his promise to those of us who are doing his will is that he will subdue our enemies for us.
“I should soon have subdued their enemies, and turned my hand against their adversaries.” (Psa 81:14)
The Hebrew word for subdue here is “כּנע”, when romanticized it becomes kâna‛ (phonetic spelling is kaw-nah') which means to humiliate, bring down (low), bring into subjection, bring under. While the English pocket dictionary defines subdue as Subdue is defined as bring under control; make quieter or less intense.
The first benefit of doing the will of God here is that he will bring our enemies under subjection, he will subdue them before us, they will be silenced before us.
The enemies of Israel were silenced before the during the days of the judges in Israel. When Samuel was also the high priest in the land, those enemies were silenced before the children of Israel. King jeroboam was also silenced before the son of king Rehoboam.

“Neither did Jeroboam recover strength again in the days of Abijah: and the LORD struck him, and he died.” (2 Chro 13:20)
The time when he will subdue the enemies under us is stated in the book and it is soon. But in the Yoruba version of this place, the author says, “instantly, immediately”.
If we are sincerely in the will of God, his one of promises is to subdue our enemies under us immediately.
We are perhaps still witnessing the uproar of the enemies because we have not been doing his will as he wants, if we can do his will as he wants and desires, this he will do for us immediately. He has said let every man be liar and God be truth. He will not deny himself. He will not go back on his words.
If you know you are still doing the will of God, but the enemies is still raging themselves against you, it may be that what God is telling you was what he says unto Abraham in Genesis 17, that walk before me and be perfect.
“And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the LORD appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect.” (Gen 17:1)
He is therefore still seeing some imperfections in us that is handcuffing him from taken decisive actions against those enemies.
2. Turning His Hands Against our Enemies: He has been using glove hands to deal with our enemies for a while, and this happens because we are not absolutely in his will, when we are in his wills, he promises to stop using glove hands in dealing with our enemies, and those that antagonize us, but he will use strong hand against them, he will raise his hand against them for evil.
“I should soon have subdued their enemies, and turned my hand against their adversaries.” (Psa 81:14)
When God faces anyone for evil there is nothing that the person lays his or her hands upon again that he will prosper there. Let us recall what happened to King Saul, or what happened to the Egyptians when he wanted to deliver his firstborn from their land, (Jer. 31:9). Those are similitude of God turning his hands against one’s enemies.
“And though they go into captivity before their enemies, thence will I command the sword, and it shall slay them: and I will set mine eyes upon them for evil, and not for good.” (Amo 9:4; Jer. 21:10; 39:16; 44:11, 27, 29)

3. Submission of Haters of God: Those who hate God, those who do not want to have anything doing with God would submit themselves unto us when they see how mighty our God is if we are walking in his ways.
“The haters of the LORD should have submitted themselves unto him: but their time should have endured for ever.” (Psa 81:15)
Those haters of God would have openly admitted that our God is supreme and bow to us. Just like a defeated Kungfu fighter would bow to the person who defeats him, or her acknowledging his superiority that is how those haters of God would do to us, they will openly acknowledge our God being the supreme God.
This is what happened to Jesus when he met with the lunatic man of Gadarene.
“But when he saw Jesus afar off, he ran and worshipped him,
“And cried with a loud voice, and said, what have I to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of the most high God? I adjure thee by God, that thou torment me not.” (Mar 5:6-7)
As those demons in the man could not withstand the light, fire and power in Jesus Christ that will happen to us, because those haters of the Lord would see greater light in us that they cannot withstand and would bow to the God inside of us, they would submit to the God inside of us, as it is regularly said here that when “iron meet iron, one would bend for the other”, that is what would happen to us, they would be compelled to bow to us if we are walking and doing the will of God.
The apostle tells us why this will happen to us in the book of Philippians that,
“Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:
“That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;
“And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” (Php 2:9-11)
The name of Jesus in our mouth and the Holy Spirit inside of us they would not be able to withstand thence, they will bow to us.
In the next article I shall continue with the benefits in doing the will of God.
