BEST TEACHER, EXPERIENCE 3: SELF DENIAL ONE OF THE KEYS
Brother Ajao Isaac Oluwaseyi was born to the family of late Pa Ajao and Mama Ajao decades back. He is from Kwara State, Asa Local Government Area. He is a lecturer in Statistics and Mathematics Department, Federal Polytechnic Ado-Ekiti... He shared some of the experiences he had with us and I believe you will benefit from it.
When I finished my Youth Service, I became a photographer so that i would not become a burden to my brothers, cousins and uncles who have struggled to send me to University. With the meagre income I was making I could get an apartment for my self and I started planning my life. However, I still had it in mind to further my education as such I got Master's Form of University of Ilorin. During this process, i now gave God a time that if I did not secure job by then I would go into full time Photographing, this is because Photography has so many branches and because I still have it in mind that i would one day secure employment, i could not pursue other departments of Photography.

God was indeed merciful to me because before the set date, the Lord
answered my Prayers and I secure job with Osun State Government.
It was while I was there that i got married and finished my Master's program in Unilorin.
After finishing my program, everytime I am on my way to Osun state to teach the secondary school students I felt that i am being underutilized because I had acquired more knowledge in my Master's studies. I however endured this facet, kept going until God had mercy on me and I became employed as a Lecturer in Federal Polytechnic Ado-Ekiti.
It was not easy being in another state with your wife and children being in another state, but it is has been God.
My word of advise to anyone reading this, is that in life never lose focus of what you have in mind doing, your ways may not be straight like some of your colleagues, but what you need to do is keep being on the track, do not for any reason lose focus neither hope.
When I was in Osun state, i know many people, most especially my colleagues in University, will be looking at me that I was lucky, but even at that, there are several times when I will not take anything before going to bed, not because I do not want to take something, but because if i do not deny myself some things I know I would not be able to finish my Masters Programme. This is because transporting myself to Ilorin and back to Osun state gulps money, not to talk about several seminars that would be typed and bind, where would I get the money if I do not deny myself some pleasures? I thus had to deny meself because of what I have before me. And I thank God that my labor yielded positive results.
Have positive mind, and be focused, when necessary deny yourself some pleasures to achieve your goal. If you do not want to join the multitude to do evil, you will learn to deny yourself.
