Yorùbá's ancient work is farming. And because the farms are usually situated far from homes/towns, when someone sees a person going to the town, the person who is mindful of othes would give that person what she/he should give his relatives @ home. When the person is returning/the person sees someone else returning, thhe person will equally send something to those in the farm to show he/she is also mindful of them.
In summary, this is showing that life is a give and take.
