A Hymn: Upon Mount Zion

(“But upon mount Zion shall be deliverance, and there shall be holiness; and the house of Jacob shall possess their possessions.” (Oba 1:17))

Composer’s Foreword: I do not know how to put my composed words into tonic solfa format, but having learnt however remotely how to compose songs using local Yoruba format, I decide to come with a work around on how to make my songs internationally acceptable, therefore, I have been mimicking some hymns which I believe anyone who knows how to sing such hymn globally would be able to sing along with me my composed song using the tune that I have used beneath.

Having said this, I sincerely invite you to join me in singing this newly composed song, because I know music yea songs is one of the things that makes heart merry lifting hearts out of the cauldron of darkness that the enemies may have subjected people to and draws heart closer to God and his blessings.

The Tune of Hymn to Use

“Be ready to plead Thy cause

Jesus wants to hear Thy prayer,

He has said that you should pray,

For that reason, He will hear.

The Composed Song

1. Upon mount Zion there ‘ll be

Deliverance and holiness

Even for people of God

There they ‘ll possess their possessions

2. Upon Mount Zion I ‘ll make

Spiritual ‘srael a fire

Yea they ‘ll be flame of fire

That enemies cannot withstand

3. Upon mount Zion there ‘ll be

Victory and songs of joy

Even to people of God

For they ‘ll triumph over their enemies

4. Upon mount Zion there ‘ll be

Protection for people of God

‘Cause Yahweh is their pillar

Defense and fortified city

5. Upon mount Zion there ‘ll be

Endless peace for people of God

‘Cause there He ‘ll wipe tears away

And He ‘ll give unto ‘em rest

6. Upon mount Zion there ‘ll be

Fresh auction an’ renewal of oil

For fresh oil he ‘ll pour on ‘em

‘Cause they are His special one

7. I ‘ll always go to mount Zion

To touch Hem of His garments

To renew my strength ‘ven in Him

Jesus the Holy One of God
